Brussles is a cool and interesting city. It's mixed academic and modern. There are many paints, public arts and comic in the street. The grand palace is fanstic, too. Jenny and I saw a music and light show in the plaza.
First time in Brussels, I was in a bed dilemma due to the rain and my HUGE luggage. The worse one is got lost! I made a detour from coach station. Finally arrived the hostel after 2 or more hours later. (It takes 20 minutes in the correct way from coach station to the hostel ) My hostel is Centre Vincent Van Gogh Hostel . 13.5+ Euro per person per night include breakfast. My room in the second floor- another challenge for me. (Remember my huge luggage?) Rain was stopped after everything settle down. So I decide to take a walk in the city centre.
Haggis, A traditional Scottish dish. It stuffs viscera and some flavors in sheep's stomach. Bake for few hours. Take the content out , mixed with mashed turnip and potato. Peter didn't tell me what that really ARE before eaten it. It was delicious!! Especially eating with the famous Scottish Whisky. Peter said that is the typical way to enjoy haggis (I mean Haggis + Whisky). After Jared told me what haggis made of. I started a little bit scared of eating haggis. Anyway, I'll try again next time.
The school suspended classes due to G8 meeting. Thus, I took a jaunt to city centre. Joined this demonstration. The procession occupied all the streets from Princess St. to Old Town. I could image the occasion of the summer festival in Edinburgh.
1 year ago I left England from the monotonous life in Taipei and started an adventure in Europe. Meet various people there. After that I changed my thought and expanded my vision. Thanks for everyone who I've met there. You enrich my life!! Thanks, Gracias, ありがとう, Danke, Grazie..... "The journey in early years is the nutrient of whole life" A Famous Taiwanese dancer said. So I'm so glad that I had this journey. The most important thing is not where did I go, but how I learned from the people.
We drove over 5 hundred kilometer in 2 days. From Taipei to Chia-Yu and my hometown~NANTO. and visited a famous Lake "Sun Moon Lake" then go back to Taipei County for hunting a tea pot set. We've done it!!!
